Saving Accessible PDFs from Google Docs

While Google Docs allows you to download PDF versions of your documents, these PDFs are not accessible; even if you have properly included accessibility features in your documents, these are stripped out in the PDF conversion process.

We recommend downloading a Microsoft Word version of your document and using Word’s Save as PDF option to create an accessible PDF.

The Google Docs File menu open to show the Download Microsoft Word option with the menu items highlighted with red boxes.
