On in Room 329 from until , Agathon McGeachy will be leading a hands-on workshop on building a kinetic sculpture—a mousetrap car kit—using four wheels and propelled by a mousetrap spring. Within these bounds, use your creativity! Participants in the workshop can build their own kinetic sculptures under Agathon’s direction, which will compete in drag races at the end of the workshop. Tools will be provided. Children must bring adults along to share in the fun!

But why wait? You are welcome to build your kinetic sculpture ahead of time, and bring your creation with you to enter in the drag races. Here’s a tutorial (1 MB .pdf). So get started and get crafting, and we’ll see you at the races at Worldcon!
