How to Submit a Site Selection Bid

Seattle Worldcon 2025 has the honor of administering site selection for the 2027 Worldcon. The process for site selection is outlined in the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS) Constitution, Article 4. Any group that meets the technical requirements in the WSFS Constitution and files the necessary documents with the administering Worldcon may bid for the right to host a Worldcon.

Section 4.6: Bid Eligibility states that to be eligible for site selection, a bidding committee must file the following documents with the committee that will administer the voting:

  1. an announcement of intent to bid along with the name of the bid committee and its postal and email addresses;
  2. adequate evidence of an agreement with its proposed site’s facilities, such as a conditional contract or a letter of agreement;
  3. the rules under which the Worldcon committee will operate, including a specification of the term of office of their chief executive officer or officers and the conditions and procedures for the selection and replacement of such officer or officers.

To be included on the ballot, this information must be received at least 180 days prior to the opening of the administering convention. In this case that deadline is February 14, 2025. Please send your bid documents to site-selection@seattlein2025.org. For bid committees unable to submit documents by the deadline, please contact site-selection@seattlein2025.org for information about eligibility to run as a write-in bid.
