All ballots must be received by March 14, 2025, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7).

How to Nominate

Login

  1. Login to the Seattle Registration Portal.

  2. Click on the button that says “Log into the Hugo System” or “Login to nominate.” Note: This button will be disabled if you do not have a WSFS membership.

  3. You will be redirected to NomNom, the Hugo Awards nominating system.
  4. Click 2025 Hugo Awards Nominations, which will say “2025 Hugo Awards – Nominations are open” if you have nominating rights.

    It will also have a “Click to Vote” button:

    Note: If you do not have WSFS rights and are not eligible to nominate, the event will look like the screenshot above and say, “This action is not available to you.”

Multiple Members

If you have purchased a membership using the same email for multiple accounts, then when logging in you will be prompted to select which account you are accessing:

Or at the top of the screen for the account you are in, you should see an option that says “Switch Account”.

Click “Switch Account” to redirect to the profile selection as seen above.

Note: If these are not available, log fully out and log back in.

Nominating on the E-Ballot

You may nominate up to five persons or works in each category. You are permitted (and encouraged) to make fewer nominations, or none at all, if you are not familiar with a category. The order in which you list your nominations has no effect on the outcome.

  1. Enter your nominations in the text fields of the appropriate categories.
  2. Click “Save as you go” to save what you have currently entered into the ballot.
    1. “Save all” at the bottom of the page performs the same function.
    2. This form does not autosave!
    3. A green checkmark will appear next to nominations that have saved.
  3. Complete your nominations, and return to make as many changes as you want up until the deadline.
  4. Send yourself an email copy of your ballot by selecting “Email my nominations to me”
  5. Don’t wait until the last minute, and pay attention to the time zone!

“No Award” will appear automatically in every single category on the final ballot – there is no need to include that choice on the nomination form.

When you save your ballot, you are acknowledging the name as listed in the nominations system.

How to Nominate by Surface Mail

Download the printable ballot (1 MB .pdf). Print the ballot and follow the included instructions carefully. All mailed ballots must be received by March 14, 2025, 23:59 PDT (UTC-7).
