Developed and grown in Eastern Washington, the Walla Walla Sweet onion is exceptionally sweet, very large, and the Washington state vegetable. Bred from Italian sweet onions, they are the go-to onion of choice for onion rings when you want to impress, but really show their value when used in salads—either raw, lightly grilled, or sautéed. Walla Walla Sweets are only available in-season, which runs from June through August, so Worldcon attendees will have the opportunity to try them out.

I might have to get some seeds or bulbs of these to plant in my garden back home.
