Masquerade registration is open, and we’ll have lots of other cosplay opportunities; site selection voting is open; it’s almost time for the business meeting to start; fan tables, dealers’ room, and art show participant lists are live; the Fringe schedule has added a few more activities; there will be no Chesley award at Worldcon this year; the Community Fund could use donations; the Film Festival has listed all of its films; there will be traffic construction impacting I-5 during Worldcon; KiddieCorp will be handling childcare; and we can use more volunteers; and another reminder of the business meeting schedule!

I am writing this statement in order to share the status of Seattle Worldcon’s current journey through living up to our theme of Building Yesterday’s Future—For Everyone. We have received a number of concerns asking how the convention will respond to orders and actions of the U.S. government, which we condemn, that create hostile conditions and travel barriers for LGBTQ+ members and international members.

We’re starting to plan our fringe events, attending membership rates will increase on March 1, announcing our virtual business meeting platform and times, our health policy was recently updated, community fund grants are being awarded and we’re accepting donations, and Hugo nominations are open through March 14.
